Operating Room RN Qualifications

• At least 2 years of recent operating room nursing or perioperative nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Georgia
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards, sterile technique, surgical patient care, and patient safety practices
• Ability to work scheduled major and minor holidays as required, including two of the following major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day, plus one minor holiday

Operating Room Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative experience
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and patients for scheduled and urgent surgical procedures
• Perform circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse duties according to experience, competency, and assignment
• Maintain strict sterile technique and uphold infection prevention standards in the operating room
• Monitor patient status, communicate changes promptly, and support safe surgical outcomes
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the broader healthcare team
• Complete accurate patient assessments, documentation, surgical counts, specimen handling, and handoff communication
• Promote a calm, respectful, and patient-centered environment during all phases of perioperative care
