This job was posted by : For more information, please see: The Shift Supervisor, plays a key role in overseeing the daily activities of safety, quality, and production processes as well as leading employees in all aspects of production during their shift. As a mentor to front-line operators, you will be nurturing talent as you work with both contractors and ADM colleagues to ensure that all have the training and resources to safely and properly perform tasks effectively. Job Responsibilities Coordinates daily operations performed by hourly production colleagues to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently while meeting expected environmental quality, housekeeping and quantity levels established by the company. Provide employees with resources, in good working order, to safely perform tasks and provide training necessary to properly operate equipment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Assign tasks to shift personnel that most effectively utilizes their experience, training and capabilities. Ensures the safety of all colleagues through compliance with occupational safety, health and environmental regulations, always maintaining an attitude that accidents are preventable, always leading by example. Conduct GMP, safety, health and environmental inspections. Recognize, identify and contain environmental, safety, and GMP hazards them to protect colleague safety, product quality, and environmental purity; discuss and make recommendations for improvements. Listen and respond to colleague suggestions and concerns regarding safety, health, environment, product quality and housekeeping. Communicate concerns and improvement initiatives with teams. Maintain regular communications with employees on shift, within department and with plant management to encourage and maintain positive morale and ensure plant management is informed of all matters affecting the morale and safety of colleagues. Identifies training needs and discusses needs with Area Superintendent. Develops a training plan and works with colleagues to develop a high level of job proficiency. Provide positive reinforcement for producing good results and safe performance. Evaluate colleague performance, provide regular feedback and discuss corrective action if necessary with superintendents and human resources. Attends and participates in operation area meetings, safety meetings and supervisor meetings. Analyzes safety incidents by preparing and completing Incident Analysis within 24 hours of incident and provide suggestions for improvements. May perform production duties temporarily in the event of an emergency or employee absence. May perform reasonably similar or related duties as required.
