We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership position for an individual who is confident in their clinical abilities and ready to take an active role in supporting and leading a veterinary team.

The Lead LVT will work closely with the Hospital Manager and Doctors in overseeing and supporting the Veterinary team. Ensure efficient daily operations, strong communication, accountability, and consistent standards of patient care.

This position combines advanced clinical skills with team leadership, staff training and development, extensive client interaction, and proficient use of diagnostic equipment and practice-management software . The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing direction, addressing concerns professionally, supporting hospital protocols, and helping create an organized, productive, and respectful work environment.

We are looking for someone who can lead by example , communicate effectively with both staff and management, and balance leadership responsibilities with being actively involved in patient care. Our Lead LVT should be someone the team can rely on for clinical guidance while also serving as a strong connection between the treatment team, Hospital Manager, and Doctors.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert patient care including medication administration and laboratory testing
• Assist in surgical procedures and monitor anesthesia
• Manage extensive client communication and education
• Maintain accurate records using practice management software
• Lead, train, and coordinate a team of 4-7 veterinary technicians
• Respond to veterinary emergencies and provide critical support
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as in-house lab equipment and radiology software
• Oversee dental prophylaxis and IV catheter placement procedures

 

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in veterinary technology
• Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and dental prophylaxis
• Skilled in IV catheter placement and use of medical terminology
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Demonstrated team leadership and record management capabilities
