Job Description
Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of students from Pre-K through 12th grade by providing vital occupational therapy services as a contracted school-based provider. This full-time opportunity offers the chance to work district-wide, supporting learners with diverse needs throughout the academic day. While this assignment begins as a maternity leave cover, there is a strong potential for an extension—ideal for those who want flexibility and the rewarding experience of working with a dynamic student population.
Your Role:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services across a broad age range
- Assess student needs, develop and implement treatment plans, and document progress
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary educational teams
- Support and promote student independence and participation in school activities
- For COTA candidates: Work under the supervision and direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist, ensuring seamless service delivery
- Travel between school sites within the district, as needed
Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut Occupational Therapist (OT) license, or valid Connecticut COTA certification (CT DPH License and NBCOT Exam passed)
- School-based OT/COTA experience preferred, especially with Pre-K to 12th grade
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation is essential
This position offers the fulfillment of supporting students at pivotal moments in their education, all while working within a collaborative and welcoming district community. The initial contract runs through February 2027, matching the anticipated maternity leave period. Please only apply if you are fully comfortable with a temporary contract, though the likelihood of extension is strong.
Step into a pivotal district-wide role where your clinical expertise shapes student success. Take the next step in your school-based therapy career—apply now and embark on an inspiring educational journey!
Compensation for this position ranges from $50.00 to $65.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
