Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. Purchaser PositionHaddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking a Purchaser to join our team at our headquarters in Newark, New Jersey. The Purchaser will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing all materials and equipment. This role will manage vendor negotiations, purchase order issuance, cost verification, and delivery coordination to ensure materials are procured at competitive pricing and delivered according to project schedules. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in vendor relationship management, with the ability to work independently while supervising purchasing support staff. The Purchaser reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and plays a critical role in cost control, material availability, and overall project execution.Responsibilities:Procure material and equipment by negotiating cost, delivery schedule, and terms with vendorsIssue and verify all costs of purchase orders according to the project estimateManage purchase orders to ensure accurate tracking and expediting as neededSeek and maintain strong relationships with internal team members and vendorsConfirm with vendors to acknowledge and ensure punctual deliveryFollow up and resolve issues related to back orders and returns promptlyFind and evaluate new vendors to improve cost and quality of material and equipmentParticipate in project meetings to understand delivery schedulesTrain and guide assistant purchaser and purchasing clerk in the performance of the assistant purchaser and purchasing clerk tasksVerify and monitor all purchases and work performed by assistant purchaserMeet daily with assistant purchaser and purchasing clerk to ensure work is being completed accurately and correctlyRequired Education and Experience:High school diploma3 Years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the plumbing and HVAC related industryGood written and verbal communication skillsExceptional organizational and follow up skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAttention to detailCompensation: $65,000 – $70,000 Annually Benefits Include:Medical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision Insurance401(k) Plan with Company MatchPaid Time Off (PTO)Paid HolidaysPaid VacationOpportunities for Career Growth and AdvancementPosition Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a Full Time Position. Days and Hours of Work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.
