Structural Steel Welder/Fitter | Hurricane, UT

Nexeo Staffing is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Welder/Fitter to join a growing steel fabrication operation in Hurricane, Utah.

We're looking for someone who knows their way around a fabrication shop and can do more than simply run a weld. The ideal candidate can read drawings, measure accurately, fit structural components, and produce quality welds while maintaining a strong focus on safety.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld structural steel components according to drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and measurements.
• Measure, mark, position, and align steel components.
• Perform welding and fabrication work to required specifications.
• Use grinders, cutting equipment, welding machines, and other fabrication tools.
• Inspect completed work for proper fit, dimensions, and weld quality.
• Make adjustments and corrections when necessary.
• Safely move and position steel materials.
• Follow shop safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Work closely with other welders, fitters, and production employees.

Qualifications

• Previous structural steel welding, fitting, or fabrication experience required.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Experience reading blueprints or fabrication drawings strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of welding and metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to fit and align structural components.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Dependable and safety-conscious.
• Comfortable working in a physical fabrication environment.

Experience That May Transfer Well

Candidates with backgrounds in structural steel, ironwork, welding, fabrication, pipe fitting, heavy equipment manufacturing, trailer fabrication, or similar metalworking environments are encouraged to apply.

Pay

$20.00 per hour

Schedule

Full Time | Monday–Friday | Day Shift | 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Full Time | Monday-Friday | Swing Shift | 3:30 PM – 2:30 AM

• Initial training on day shift for 1–2 weeks.
• Additional $3.00 per hour swing shift differential.
• Overtime available after 40 hours per week.
• Rotating Saturdays may be required during peak production periods.
• If 10-hour shifts are implemented, the schedule will rotate with two Saturdays on and one Saturday off.
