This position is exclusively for self-contained classrooms, focusing on students who require more individualized support throughout their school day.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education
- Experience working in self-contained (SH) classroom settings
- Ability to develop and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with classroom staff, parents, and service providers
- Demonstrated understanding of diverse learning needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement instructional plans tailored to meet each student’s IEP
- Establish a structured, nurturing classroom setting that encourages academic and personal growth
- Modify curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate individual learning requirements
- Monitor and report students’ progress toward their goals
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and administrators to best support students
- Assist students in developing social and emotional skills
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
