Job Title: Mounter Helper

Job Description

The Mounter Helper supports the tire mounting operation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment by handling heavy construction tires and rims, preparing components, and assisting machine operators. This is a physically demanding, manual labor role that involves frequent heavy lifting, use of hand tools, and working around production equipment to ensure tires are correctly assembled and ready for use.

Responsibilities

• Roll heavy construction tires and rims (75150 lbs) to the tire mounting operator and position them for processing.
• Place individual tires onto the rimming machine one at a time to support the mounting process.
• Ensure the correct rims are available and staged for each tire mounting operation.
• Attach appropriate valves for different tire and rim assemblies, following specified requirements.
• Inspect rims for quality issues and perform touch-up painting as needed to meet standards.
• Assist mounters throughout the mounting process by supplying materials, tools, and components.
• Work primarily by rolling tires and rims, and lift them onto their sides or into position when required.
• Maintain a high level of productivity and stay busy throughout the shift in a fast-paced production environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around manufacturing equipment and heavy materials.
• Adapt to changing work needs by moving to different areas in the plant when additional help is required.
• Support both the JLG mounting side and the Volvo/Military mounting side, applying the same principles with additional attention to detail for multi-assembly rims.
• Handle general labor and production tasks as directed, including assembly, basic construction-related duties, and use of hand tools.
• Contribute to overall plant efficiency by responding quickly to requests for assistance in other production areas.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of work experience in a fast-paced or production environment.
• At least 6 months of experience using hand tools in a work setting.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and stoop for extended periods during the shift.
• Ability to safely perform frequent heavy lifting of 75150 lbs.
• Capability to work efficiently in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong attendance and reliability, with a commitment to staying busy and productive.
• Comfort working in a labor-intensive, manual labor role.
• Attention to safety procedures and safe handling of heavy materials and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in tire mounting, general labor, or general production work.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or assembly environments.
• Ability to learn and follow detailed processes for multi-assembly rims, including Volvo and military applications.
• Willingness to move between different production areas as operational needs change.
• No formal education qualifications required.

Work Environment

The position is based in a fast-paced manufacturing and production facility where safety is a top priority. Employees work around tire mounting and rimming machines, forklifts, and other production equipment, handling heavy construction tires and rims throughout the shift. The environment is labor-intensive, with frequent standing, bending, twisting, stooping, and heavy lifting. Hand tools and basic assembly tools are used regularly, and team members may move between different mounting lines, including areas handling more detailed multi-assembly rims.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, PA.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Bedford,PA.
