Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions
• Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor changes in patient status
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments safely and accurately
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, pain management, and patient progress
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, discharge planning, and recovery expectations
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital quality standards
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while advocating for patients and supporting their families

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification preferred
• Experience caring for diverse adult medical and post-operative surgical patients
• Strong assessment, clinical decision-making, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
