Labor And Delivery Nurse
Schedule: 7P-7A, Night Shift, Full-time (36 hours), weekend & holiday rotation required. This will be discussed further during interview. Two call shifts required per 6 week time tract.
Department: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Forsyth Medical Center Winston-Salem, NC
Unit Information: 21 labor rooms, OB ED, 2 Operating Rooms.
Requirements: Either previous L&D or women's health experience is required for this position.

What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, immediate recovery
- Assess, monitor, and document maternal and fetal status throughout labor using approved monitoring equipment and nursing assessment technique
- Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in maternal and fetal conditions, escalating concerns to providers as needed.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
- Assist providers during vaginal & caesarean deliveries and stabilize mother and newborn immediately following birth.
What We're Looking For
- Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
- Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
