JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, andcreative Activities Assistant to join our team at Maple ManorChristian Home. The Activities Assistant supports the planning, coordination,and implementation of recreational programs and events that promote thephysical, mental, and emotional well-being of our residents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintaining workspace
Lead group and individual recreationalactivities such as games, arts and crafts, music, exercise classes, andoutings
Encourage resident participation and adaptactivities to meet the needs and abilities of all residents
Help transport residents to and from activityareas as needed
Decorate activity areas for events and holidaysto create a festive and engaging environment
Document resident participation and report anychanges in behavior or health to appropriate staff
Collaborate with nursing, dietary, and otherdepartments to support resident care and engagement
Assist with welcoming and orienting newresidents to activity programs

QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience in a healthcare or seniorliving setting preferred. But it is not a requirement
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to motivate and engage older adults witha variety of needs and abilities
Must be patient, reliable, creative, andenthusiastic
Ability to work a flexible schedule, includingsome evenings, weekends, and holidays
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assistresidents with mobility during activities
