Histology Technician

Job Summary Location: Nyack, New York. Position: Tissue Processing Laboratory Technician in Diagnostic Radiology. Work Shift: Mon-Fri, 7AM–3:30PM. Salary: $38.77–$55.11 per hour (subject to shift differential, experience, education, etc.). Responsibilities Embed tissue specimens, obtain 4‑micron thin sections, and perform routine stains and coverslips. Execute special stains and immunohistochemical techniques. Accession specimens, prepare cassettes, and prepare non‑gyn cytology specimens. Maintain and troubleshoot histology equipment and instrument. Prepare reagents, complete required forms, charts and statistical records. Assist in training personnel and obtain specimens from ORs as needed. Prepare supplies for distribution to physician offices, nursing stations and operating rooms. Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Clinical Laboratory Technician license, or New York State Board of Clinical Laboratory Technology provisional permit. Knowledge of tissue processing, staining, and immunohistochemistry. Strong manual dexterity, hand‑eye coordination, and visual acuity. Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
