Position Summary

We are seeking a Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients. This role is responsible for managing referrals, conducting intake scheduling, verifying information, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a welcoming experience for clients seeking behavioral health services.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming phone calls, emails, and referral inquiries
• Schedule intake appointments and coordinate provider calendars
• Collect and maintain client demographic information
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits when applicable
• Enter and update information within electronic health record systems
• Coordinate communication between clients and clinical staff
• Assist with referral management and follow-up activities
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA requirements
• Support administrative projects and office operations as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Previous healthcare, behavioral health, medical office, or administrative experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism
