Plan Analyst

Overview At Gallagher, we serve as trusted advisors helping organizations support and protect their people. As a Plan Analyst, you'll partner with Account Managers and Producers to support client service and new business initiatives. You'll focus on analyzing benefits programs, preparing renewal strategies, and developing market comparisons across medical, dental, vision, life, disability, prescription drug, and stop-loss coverage. This role involves building client reports, supporting renewal processes, and contributing to presentations. Responsibilities Develop Strategic Time Table for select clients and make certain Broker and Account manager-director stay on track to this schedule (e.g., quarterly management report, annual renewal, pre-renewal meeting). Meet with the Broker to plan approach for upcoming renewals – e.g., who to quote. Obtain information necessary for renewal spreadsheet (i.e., census, billing statements, plan information, claims etc.). Analyze plans to determine potential savings, plan design comparability, and network comparability (this is done with incumbent carriers as well as through competitive quote situations). Create and analyze market bids (all lines). Complete renewal spreadsheet and review with Broker. Assist Broker in preparing for renewal meeting (e.g., print final copies); attend meeting if requested. Identify reporting requirements of specific clients; e.g., some clients may want to zero in on a different PPO network, while others “hot buttons” may be prescription costs. Run online proposals – through BCBSM, HAP, Priority Health, others. Analyze self-insured claims. Ad hoc reporting. About You Core Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and financial reports. Strong attention to detail with solid organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. Customer-focused with a high level of professionalism. Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Collaborative team player with strong business acumen. Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience conducting internet research and working within carrier platforms/applications. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred. 2+ years of experience in a group health insurance agency environment preferred. 2+ years of general office or administrative experience preferred. 2+ years of customer service experience preferred. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
