The culture of our office is to provide a private and personal experience to our patients spending the time necessary to identify their individual needs and provide them with the highest quality of treatment and educate them on their dental needs. Our goal is so that each and every patient that we see is given the absolute best quality care. We are very family oriented and we have a small team. Unfortunately, one of our amazing hygienist is moving back home to be closer to family.

The ideal candidate needs to have an RDH certification, have a very positive attitude and willing to learn all the aspects and duties of the practice. Must be able to provide references from previous employers. A Dental Hygienist is a huge part to our dental practice that needs to have up-to-date knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies.

Although we have an assistant that specifically cleans and sets up our operatories and sterilizes our instruments, we all still contribute and help the office flow as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
• Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
• Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
• Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
• Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
• Laser certified (Can be provided by the office)
• Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
• Open dental practice management
• Take X-rays
• Monitor supplies
• Setting up and turning over rooms.
• Sterilize dental instruments properly

Skills

• Proven experience as Dental Hygienist
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
• Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
• Outstanding communication skills
• A patient and friendly personality
• Attention to detail
• Diploma in Dental Hygiene
• Valid license to practice and maintain requirements

Our office is equipped with state-of-the-art technology , including:

• Cordless polishers
• Handheld digital X-ray devices
• Digital impression systems
• Soft-tissue laser
• Open Dental practice management software

Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday through Thursday
• Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with a 1-hour lunch break)
• Appointment Times: All healthy mouth and periodontal maintenance appointments are scheduled for 1 hour, unless additional time has been pre-planned (e.g., SRPs are scheduled for 2 hours per 2 quadrants)
• Laser certification is a significant plus
