Associate Veterinarian: ER, Surgery & Wellness

Overview Our client is a privately owned veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their high-volume practice. The clinic provides care for small animals, pocket pets, and occasional exotics. The hospital handles general practice, urgent care and emergency cases. While exotics and pocket pets are seen, the incoming doctor does not have to treat these species. The hospital is open to candidates who prefer to see only dogs and cats, which make up the majority of the caseload. With seven DVMs and services offered seven days a week, the hospital supports a wide range of interests including GP, emergency, and surgery-focused roles. The hospital is open seven days a week from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm. Most doctors work four, 10-hour days with a 1.5-hour lunch break and typically see 30-minute appointments. Weekend coverage is required, with each doctor expected to work one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday), though there is flexibility in scheduling. Full-time is preferred. Responsibilities Work in a high-volume general practice with exposure to a wide range of cases, including surgery, dentistry, wellness, and emergency medicine. Manage appointments throughout the day and contribute to surgeries distributed across the week. Provide coverage for weekend shifts as part of a rotating schedule. Qualifications Experienced veterinarian; open to candidates who specialize in surgery. Mentorship available; team is collaborative. Facilities & Support Well-equipped hospital with digital x-rays, dental x-rays, a full in-house lab, endoscopy, and ultrasound, plus weekly access to a visiting ultrasonographer. Avimark records; recently completed facility expansion with three surgical suites, 12 exam rooms, and six wet tables. AAHA certification is a future goal. Capabilities & Services Advanced procedures including orthopedic and brachycephalic surgeries, PRP injections, and emergency procedures such as splenectomies, caesarean sections, and endoscopies. Routine procedures such as spays/neuters, mass removals, and anesthetic dental procedures. Comprehensive in-house pharmacy and in-house laboratory, digital x-rays, and ultrasound. Team & Scheduling Staffed by 10 DVMs and approximately 70 support staff; each doctor is supported daily by 1–2 dedicated room nurses; additional RVTs and assistants are available. Collaborative, well-supported environment with multiple doctors scheduled each day and on-site management.
