About the Position

Ability to manage cardiac drips and provide care for stepdown patients. Description: 225-bed specialty care facility with various medical services. The facility includes departments such as Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, and more. Located in a central region known for its community and educational institutions. The unit offers a cardiac and stepdown care environment. The role includes handling a specific patient population with various cardiac conditions. Patient ratios are maintained at 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for the stepdown population. Equipment used in the unit includes telemetry monitoring systems. The electronic health record system in use is Cerner. Teamwork is essential in this role. Preferred skills include experience with PCU/stepdown patient populations and low-level ICU skills. Common diagnoses treated include chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, and pre-and post-open heart surgery care. The required educational qualification is an Associate's degree in nursing. Uniform includes scrub colors of blue or navy, and certain attire such as blue jeans is not permitted.
