Details Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown/Telemetry/IMC setting within a hospital environment Patient population includes telemetry, neurological/psychiatric, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and plastics cases Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week Float required within the OSU health system Requirements Active RN license, Ohio or compact, required in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, starting and maintaining IVs, nasal cannula and oxygen administration/tanks, PCA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, and total joint replacement care 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted Additional Information Provide direct patient care for PCU/stepdown level patients including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and wound care Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility Current OSU hospital employees are not eligible for traveler positions RTO must be submitted with the contract and is limited to 7 days or less Local candidates accepted at the same rate American Traveler Job ID P-765448.
