Area Vice President
THINK Together
Area Vice President
Founded in 1997, Think Together partners with schools to change the odds for kids by providing award-winning programs during and outside the school day. We're one of California's largest nonprofits working in school districts from San Diego to San Francisco. Whether you're interested in early learning, elementary, middle or high school, you can invest in your community by working at a local school or working within our home office providing support!
The Area Vice President serves as the executive owner of the assigned regional partner portfolio, accountable for gross revenue retention, customer satisfaction, partner health, contract realization, and long-term business growth across Northern and Central California anchored to our San Jose Hub. Operating with an enterprise ownership mindset, this leader is responsible for retaining and growing existing partnerships while delivering exceptional operational performance, program quality, and community impact. Success in this role is measured by the ability to proactively strengthen customer relationships, mitigate partner risk, achieve retention and growth goals, and ensure Think Together is viewed as a trusted, strategic partner.
The Area Vice President owns and cultivates executive relationships with Superintendents, Cabinet members, Board Members, and other district decision-makers, serving as the primary executive sponsor aligned to each district's vision, priorities, and long-term goals. This leader is accountable for anticipating district needs, translating strategic priorities into measurable partnership strategies, and leading executive engagement, renewal readiness, and high-risk partner intervention to strengthen customer satisfaction, partnership expansion, and revenue retention.
This role oversees the Executive Directors of Programs and is accountable for building high-performing teams that consistently deliver operational excellence, program quality, customer experience, and organizational performance across the assigned area.
The Area Vice President maintains a visible presence within the school communities they serve, proactively identifying opportunities to deepen partnerships and align programming with district priorities, including enrichment, STEM initiatives, student engagement, and community-centered programming.
The Area Vice President leads through data stewardship and performance management, leveraging leading indicators, business reviews, and operational insights to drive strategic decision-making, accountability, and continuous improvement. By integrating customer success, operational excellence, talent leadership, and community engagement, this executive delivers measurable outcomes for students, staff, partners, and the organization. This position requires an accomplished executive leader with exceptional relationship-building skills, strategic business acumen, operational expertise, and a demonstrated ability to lead large-scale, customer-facing organizations with an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented mindset.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Revenue Retention, Customer Success & Business Growth

- Lead executive sponsor strategies, renewal readiness planning, and partner retention plans for high-value and at-risk partners.
- Identify, escalate, and resolve high-risk partner situations before contract renewal cycles to proactively mitigate churn.
