Assistant General Manager

Living Earth is seeking an experienced, results-oriented Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in leading the financial, operational, commercial, safety, customer-service, and people performance of an assigned region. This hands-on leadership role supports multiple locations, helps drive consistent execution of company standards, and may assume delegated General Manager responsibilities as business needs require.

Key Responsibilities

· Support regional operations, financial performance, sales, customer service, safety, employee leadership, and business strategy.

· Help execute regional operating plans, budgets, forecasts, performance objectives, strategic priorities, and company initiatives.

· Analyze P&L results, revenue, margins, EBITDA, labor costs, operating expenses, inventory, capital expenditures, productivity, and other performance measures; identify opportunities and corrective actions.

· Visit assigned locations to evaluate operations, facility conditions, production, inventory, staffing, safety, equipment utilization, housekeeping, customer service, and compliance with company standards.

· Coach and hold District Managers, Site Managers, and other assigned leaders accountable for financial, operational, safety, customer-service, and employee performance.

· Provide temporary or supplemental leadership support to locations experiencing vacancies, performance challenges, increased demand, or operational disruptions.

· Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, corrective action, investigations, training, and succession planning.

· Ensure compliance with company requirements for inventory controls, purchasing, cash handling, expense authorization, equipment management, internal controls, and protection of company assets.

· Partner with Sales and operations leaders to align customer needs, service delivery, pricing, capacity, and profitability; assist with significant customer meetings and escalations.

· Lead or support projects that improve productivity, profitability, workflow, inventory management, labor efficiency, equipment and technology utilization, and customer service.

· Support implementation of new systems, policies, procedures, training programs, acquisitions, integrations, expansions, and other strategic initiatives.

· Respond to emergencies, equipment failures, staffing shortages, severe weather, customer issues, and other business-continuity events; escalate significant risks appropriately.

· Communicate regularly with the General Manager regarding performance, risks, opportunities, assigned responsibilities, and recommended improvements.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.

· Five or more years of progressively responsible operations, production, distribution, sales, or management experience preferred, including supervisory or management experience.

· Experience supporting multi-location operations in production, distribution, recycling, landscape materials, building products, construction supply, manufacturing, transportation, environmental services, or a similar environment preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to support multi-location business performance and work with budgets, P&L statements, labor costs, inventory, customer service, and operating metrics.

· Strong leadership, business acumen, analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, organization, and time-management skills.

· Ability to coach employees, hold leaders accountable, manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality.

· Proficiency with spreadsheets, financial reports, dashboards, business systems, email, and related technology.

· Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required. Regular regional travel is required.

· Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and required company training.

Schedule and Work Environment

· Full-time, salaried exempt position, generally Monday through Friday. Early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended hours may be required based on business needs.

· Work is performed in office, vehicle, outdoor production, processing, distribution, and customer environments, with exposure to weather, dust, noise, commercial vehicles, and heavy equipment.

· Must be able to travel frequently, remain on-site for extended periods, navigate active operating environments, and perform prolonged computer-based work and meetings.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: To be determined based on market, experience, qualifications, assigned responsibilities, and region.
