Job Description

As a Security Officer State Property in Willimantic CT you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a government location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas conduct routine patrols remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents and support access awareness through strong customer service and our agile reliable and innovative team you will put people first work with integrity and deliver through teamwork in a professional public-facing environment.

What Youll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors staff and/or members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures access control activities and other security-related duties at a government location.
• Respond to incidents unusual activity and/or critical situations in a calm professional and problem-solving manner and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency services when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings grounds parking areas and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report hazards maintenance concerns and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor entrances exits and restricted areas verify identification and/or credentials as directed by site policies and document observations incidents and daily activities in required reports.
• Support emergency response activities by following post orders providing direction to occupants and/or visitors and assisting with controlled access evacuations and other security-related procedures as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
• A state county and/or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
