Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate the specific sport with a full team in compliance with MSHSAA standards. Assist in implementing athletic standards as outlined in the MSHSAA Handbook and attend all MSHSAA required sessions. Assist in the coordination of the program. Supervise students at practices and contests. Provide information for transportation, facilities, officials, and game management. Organize and schedule regular practice sessions to develop student‑athletes' greatest potential. Emphasize safety precautions and adhere to best training and injury management procedures. Conduct team and self in an ethical manner during practices and contests, exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanship. Ensure systematic return of all school equipment in accordance with the KCMSD Athletic Department Handbook. Continue professional growth through clinics and professional publications. Successfully complete the MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses. Fulfill 8 contact hours of professional development: District level meetings – 4 hrs. School level meetings – 3 hrs. Outside meetings/clinics – 1 hr. Physical Demands The job requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and fingers, bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least 25 pounds. Terms of Employment Length of work year: Seasonal Position Type: Part‑Time Salary: $8,000 per year Job Requirements Must complete the MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course.
