Be a Basemaker P - We PURSUE EXCELLENCE I - We act with INTEGRITY T - We choose TEAMWORK C - We COMMUNICATE H - We bring HEART The Opportunity Basemakers is seeking a full‑time, outside field sales and merchandising representative for our new Charlotte territory, commuting in routes daily around Charlotte, Mooresville, Cornelius, & Harrisburg. This territory covers the greater Charlotte Metro area, with most travel concentrated in the north and south Charlotte suburbs and surrounding communities. Very limited downtown Charlotte travel is expected. As an independent and highly collaborative role, you will visit around 6‑8 grocery stores per day (such as Whole Foods, Sprouts, Harris Teeter, Publix, & Fresh Market), using the Basemaker's Way to improve the in‑store presence of brands. You will work with brand products and grocery store decision‑makers, leveraging relationships and acting as a trusted advisor to increase brand sales velocity through problem‑solving. As a self‑motivated, high‑achieving, team‑oriented, and coachable person, you will operate with the utmost integrity as you represent both brands and Basemakers in the community. Responsibilities Work 100% of the time in the field from your vehicle and in grocery stores merchandising and selling for multiple brands. Work the hours required each week to visit every store on a specified route, generally 2‑3 times a month. Work Monday‑Friday, starting early in the morning, with the possibility of working on weekends to make up missed time. Work independently with little supervision while collaborating with grocery store managers, brand‑company representatives, and internally with Basemakers’ Brand Partner Managers, District Managers and Sales Directors. Capture brand data (e.g., photos, typing notes, filling out forms) using mobile phone apps such as Repsly, Slack, Gmail, and Google Workspace. Take full ownership of all in‑store presence for our brands, improving display execution, void filling, off‑shelf displays & placements, and collaborating on effective merchandising and selling points. Who You Are (Qualifications) Positive mindset, driven to accomplish, high emotional intelligence, grit, coachable, and detail‑oriented. Growth mentality and goal orientation. Strong problem solving, analytical, influencing, and negotiation skills. Experience working in or closely with grocery store operations, or the ability to learn store nuances quickly. Experience in route sales, brand ambassadorship, vendor sales, merchandising, retail, or similar territory sales. Premium selling skills preferred, or a desire to learn and apply sales techniques. Passion to represent Brand Partners, mainly in the natural, organic, and specialty food and beverage space. Track record of success in a highly self‑directed environment. Professional communication across team members, comfortable initiating multiple lines of communication via smartphone apps. Ability to achieve monthly KPIs and metrics set by supervisors. Professional demeanor and representation with coworkers, distributors, retail representatives, and consumers. Valid license, clean driving record, registration, and auto insurance. Willingness to drive many miles per day in your own vehicle, transport promotional materials and occasionally small product quantities. Capacity to perform the physical requirements, including standing, walking, reaching, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and lifting 10‑lbs consistently and 50‑lbs occasionally. Physical Requirements Our field reps work at periodically moderate to high levels of physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching, grasping, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and moving products. You should be able to lift 10 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally. Compensation $53,692 total earnings at average commission levels Base salary: $46,000 + estimated average monthly commissions of $641 (range: $209 lows to $982 highs per month; commissions are uncapped). Monthly vehicle reimbursement: $400. Commission amounts are based on the average of the last 12 months and are not guaranteed. Commission is based on personal performance in creating wins for brands through additional or incremental placements and exposure opportunities.
