Dispatcher

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to support workforce coordination in a fast-paced union construction environment. This role is responsible for scheduling and dispatching heavy equipment operators, managing job assignments, and serving as a key point of contact for members, field staff, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and dispatch heavy equipment operators based on job requests, availability, and priority needs.
• Develop and manage daily and short-term workforce schedules, adjusting assignments to meet changing project demands.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for members, supervisors, and contractors regarding job assignments, availability, and work status.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity, member status, job orders, and related documentation.
• Monitor workforce utilization and timelines to ensure efficient placement of operators.
• Communicate updates, changes, and critical information in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure compliance with union agreements, policies, and dispatch procedures.
• Respond to inquiries via phone and email, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support reporting, documentation, and administrative processes.
• Provide backup support and assist with additional administrative or operational tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dispatching, scheduling, or workforce coordination—preferably in construction or a union environment.
• Experience working with or supporting heavy equipment operators strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of scheduling principles and workforce allocation.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with frequent interruptions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dispatch or scheduling systems.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with union agreements or labor dispatch systems.
• Knowledge of construction operations, job site coordination, or workforce planning.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced office environment supporting construction workforce operations.
• Frequent communication with field personnel and internal teams.
• May require flexibility in schedule based on operational needs.
