Assistant Manager II

Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities. Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns. Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas. Perform opening and closing procedures. Process corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, information requests, and other communications). Maintain promotional effectiveness of store‑front fixtures and displays. Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts) and loss prevention. Maintain store areas, including a well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom, to company standards. Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash. Adhere to policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, and ensure all associates follow them. Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates. Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders. Maintain cleanliness throughout the store (bathrooms, floors, trash, neat presentation). Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) and ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives. Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments (preferred). Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills (required). Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment (required). Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills (required). Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills (required).
