Lifeguard

As a Lifeguard, you will provide rescue and lifesaving services, teach water safety and swim instruction to children and adolescents in program during the summer months, and help maintain our pools for optimal health and safety. You will report to the Director of Therapeutic Recreation and you will work onsite.Responsibilities:Monitor and maintain order in the swimming pool area to prevent accidentsRescue swimmers in danger of drowning, administering first aidInspect the swimming facilities at the beginning and end of each shift for cleanliness; monitor and record the chlorine content and pH level of the waterProvide students with ongoing swimming instruction based on ability levelHold students and staff accountable to the rules of the pool area and report any concerns with adherence of these rules to a Residential SupervisorWork in other areas of the recreational department during inclement weatherRequirements and Education:Requires an Advance Life Saving certificate or equivalent (must be a certified Lifeguard)Must be at least 18 years of ageExperience working with children and adolescents and the ability to understand the basics of the therapeutic environment preferredBenefitsSick LeaveEAP401 (K) planFree training/CEU opportunitiesAbout Northern RiversAt Northern Rivers Family of Services, we work together to make a difference in our client's lives.
