VSC Fire & Security in Richmond, Virginia is seeking candidates for the position of Human Resources Generalist.

  What you need:

• Proven experience (0-1 years) as an HR Generalist or similar role, demonstrating a solid understanding of HR principles and practices.


• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.


• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.


• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.


• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.


• Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).


• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.


• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.


• Desirable (but not required):

  What you will do:

• Assist in the end-to-end recruitment process, including job posting, and resume screening.


• Coordinate new hire onboarding activities, including orientation, paperwork, and I-9s.


• Address employee inquiries and concerns, provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, and contribute to fostering a positive work environment.


• Mediate and resolve employee conflicts as needed.


• Administer employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management.


• Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and ensure accurate records are maintained.


• Support the performance management process by assisting in goal setting, performance evaluations, and development plans.


• Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.


• Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.


• Compile HR data, generate reports, and analyze trends to provide insights for management decision-making.


• Utilize HRIS systems to manage and track employee information.


• Contribute to various HR projects, such as employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, and process improvement efforts.
