Job Title: Trauma Nurse Lead Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: TNCC, ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: - TNCC - ENPC (preferred) - ACLS - BLS - PALS Description: Candidates must have ED/Trauma experience. The unit handles 2 trauma bays in the emergency department. Patient ratios and type of equipment include a Level 1 rapid infuser, HOT LINE, EKG, GE care scape (ultrasound), Hamilton vent, CAT tourniquet, and Alaris IV pump. The documentation system is Meditech. Scheduling requirements include nights and weekends. No floating or on-call schedules are available. Candidates should have advanced skills in running a mass transfusion through a Level 1 rapid infuser. Assistance in the operating room when needed is required. A strong IV background is essential for this role. Candidates must work well in a high-stress environment and possess rapid critical thinking skills. Procedures performed on the unit include IV placement, spinal stabilization, splinting, assisting with chest tube procedures, traction, and central/art line placement, as well as emergency bedside procedures. Required dress code includes red and black scrubs—red top and black bottom. The role involves working in an emergency room environment during the initial primary and secondary survey periods.
