We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Director of Engineering Operations to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the engineering operations of a leading engineering firm. This position is 100% remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from anywhere. The ideal candidate will be a Professional Engineer (PE) with a proven track record of success in managing high voltage substations and leading executive teams. The candidate must have an ABET accredited degree in electrical engineering and at least 5 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

As the Director of Engineering Operations, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the engineering department and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Leading and managing a team of engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their professional growth.
• Planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of high voltage 15-500 kV substations.
• Collaborating with executive leadership to develop and implement strategic plans for the engineering department.
• Developing and maintaining key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the engineering operations.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Continuously improving operational processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Director of Engineering Operations position, you must have the following qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the engineering industry.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• An ABET accredited degree in electrical engineering.
• Strong experience in planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of high voltage 15-500 kV substations.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team of engineers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
• Proficiency in using engineering software and tools.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and productivity through process improvement.
