Senior Project Sales Consultant – High-Ticket Outdoor Living & Home Services

Location: North New Jersey | Hybrid / Field-Based with Remote Follow-Up

We're looking for an experienced sales professional to join our growing outdoor living and home services construction business.

This is an opportunity to sell high-value residential and commercial projects to qualified customers—not spend your day making endless cold calls hoping to find a deal.

You'll work with affluent homeowners, high-end residential properties, schools, country clubs, and other commercial clients. You bring the sales expertise. We provide the leads, marketing support, systems, and operational resources to help you close.

The Role

This role owns the front end of the customer relationship —from first contact through signed agreement—and is expected to sell responsibly, accurately, and in full alignment with operations and delivery standards.

You will be responsible for turning qualified opportunities into signed projects while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, accuracy, and customer experience.

Core Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Sales Execution

• Respond quickly and professionally to qualified leads.
• Conduct on-site and virtual consultations.
• Build relationships with homeowners, referral partners, and commercial decision-makers.
• Understand customer goals, site conditions, budgets, and project requirements.
• Present solutions aligned with approved offerings and capabilities.
• Move qualified opportunities through the sales process and close agreements.

Accurate Scoping & Responsible Selling

• Define project scope, assumptions, and exclusions clearly.
• Confirm site access, utilities, grading, drainage, and other project limitations.
• Avoid speculation, over-promising, or unsupported assumptions.
• Sell what can actually be executed — exactly as documented.

Pricing Discipline & Approvals

• Use approved pricing tools and templates.
• Obtain required approvals before presenting pricing.
• No unauthorized discounts, scope changes, or representations.
• Coordinate with operations to confirm feasibility and execution planning.

Proposal, Contract & Handoff

• Prepare accurate proposals and agreements.
• Ensure contracts reflect what was discussed and sold.
• Execute a clean, documented handoff to operations.
• Remain engaged through onboarding to ensure customer and operational alignment.

CRM & Documentation

• Maintain accurate, real-time records in CRM and project systems.
• Log customer interactions, notes, and updates.
• Ensure quotes, drawings, approvals, and other relevant documentation are properly stored.

Collaboration & Accountability

• Work closely with operations, project management, and leadership.
• Participate in pipeline reviews and forecasting.
• Support issue resolution when questions arise.
• Keep sales execution aligned with approved operations, pricing, and delivery standards.

How Success Is Measured

• Revenue and closed project volume.
• Quality and accuracy of sold projects.
• Conversion rate on qualified opportunities.
• Minimal scope disputes and rework.
• Customer satisfaction through handoff and execution.
• Strong alignment with operations and delivery teams.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a self-driven, experienced sales professional who knows how to build trust, manage a sales process, and close high-value opportunities.

You should be comfortable selling to sophisticated homeowners and decision-makers and understand that successful sales are built on both revenue and execution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction, outdoor living, home services, or related sales.
• Experience selling to affluent homeowners and high-end residential clients.
• Experience working with commercial establishments such as schools, country clubs, or similar organizations.
• Proven ability to sell high-value projects.
• Strong consultative selling and customer communication skills.
• Comfortable conducting site visits and discussing technical project requirements.
• High attention to detail and documentation discipline.
• CRM experience required.
• Strong negotiation, follow-up, and closing skills.
• Professional presence and excellent communication skills.
