Title: Automation Maintenance Technician
Shift:
- 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
- 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
- 3rd Shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Schedule: 6 days per week with a rotating 7th day
Salary: $30.00 – $42.00 / hour (Dependent on experience)
Automation Maintenance Technician Role:
The Automation Maintenance Technician serves as a core technical expert responsible for maximizing machine uptime and operational reliability across automated welding and assembly systems. This role exists to drive continuous plant productivity, maximize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and maintain rigorous quality standards across our client's high-volume manufacturing facility.
Automation Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotic, and automated manufacturing equipment
- Program, recover, master, and optimize Fanuc robots using teach pendants to maintain optimal cycle times and throughput
- Maintain and repair automated MIG, resistance spot, and projection welding systems, including controllers, guns, transformers, and electrodes
- Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance procedures on motors, gearboxes, VFDs, conveyors, sensors, and control panels
- Diagnose equipment faults using PLC diagnostics, HMIs, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Repair and adjust production fixtures and tooling by replacing locating pins, clamps, cylinders, and dimensional shims
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions to reduce production downtime, scrap rates, and safety risks
Automation Maintenance Technician Reporting Relationships:
The candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will have no direct reports.
About You:
- Possess a high school diploma or GED (Associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance or automation preferred)
- Hold 5+ years of industrial maintenance, robotics, or automated manufacturing experience, preferably within an automotive environment
- Demonstrate strong technical proficiency in Fanuc robot programming, recovery, mastering, teach pendant operation, and TCP verifications
- Exhibit direct experience servicing automated MIG, resistance spot, and projection welding equipment and controllers
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic prints, pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints accurately
- Demonstrate technical competency in industrial electrical systems, motors, VFDs, sensors, control panels, safety circuits, and mechanical drive systems
- Maintain the ability to work a 6-day work week with a rotating 7th day across assigned shifts

Physical Demands: Must be able to physically lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 lbs
Working Environment: Fast-paced, automated Tier-1 automotive manufacturing plant setting requiring personal protective equipment (PPE)
