Order Selector, Distribution Center

Order Selector PositionWhole Foods Market is seeking full time order selectors for our distribution center in Vernon, CA. This is a perishable distribution center with floral, meat, and produce products. Temperatures range from -10 (freezer) to 46 degrees (including a banana and avocado ripening room!). Base pay: see bottom of page for wage range. Incentives: $200 8 week training completion bonus! $1000 milestone bonus! $500 @ 6 and 12 months $650 a month potential based on productivity and accuracy. Availability: This position will have a 2:00PM Mon-Fri; 1:00PM Saturday & Sunday shift start time, will work to completion, and have a rotating 4-day/ 10-hour workweeks including weekends and holidays. (Schedules are subject to change.)Job Requirements and Basic Qualifications:Use voice-based order system to select and palletize store ordersManually stacking product onto pallets, wrapping, and preparing product for shipment.Respect all Good Organics compliances when stacking productOperating an electric/motorized ride on standing pallet jack (either single or double)Assist in cleaning the warehouse, maintaining a safe working environmentComply with all applicable health and safety codesCommunicate and maintain employee safety and security standardsArrive to work on time, wear appropriate PPE, work all scheduled shifts, complete required trainings and attend required meetings.Ability to read and speak basic EnglishPerform other duties as assigned by Team Leader, Associate Team Leader, Facility Leadership.Skills/Requirements and Professional Knowledge:Experience working with an electric/motorized ride on standing pallet jack (either single or double)Experience with voice systems a plusTeam-player with positive attitudeStrong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.Able to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with little supervisionWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements:Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach with or without reasonable accommodationMust be able to lift 50 lbs, Occasionally lift up to 70 lbs (team lift suggested for weights in excess of 70 lbs)Work in a cold/wet storage facility environment (ranging from -10 (freezer) to 55 degrees Fahrenheit). General warehouse temps 34-46 degrees, Freezer -10 degreesRegularly getting on and off powered equipment, stepping on and off throughout shiftHand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pullingAbility to use tools and equipment, including safety box cutters, electric pallet jacks and voice equipmentMust adhere to company dress code and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Availability Requirements:Average shifts are 8-10 hours longAbility to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as neededMay require the use of ladders.The wage range for this position is $19.50-$34.92 Hourly, commensurate with experience.
