Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Pediatric Neurology multi-disciplinary team. Nurse practitioners (NPs) at Cortica are passionate members of Neurodevelopmental Medicine (NDM) team that strives to bring exceptional care to children and families with neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism. The Care Team Pediatric Neurology (including metabolism and genetics) Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics Pediatric and Family Nurse Practitioners Nutrition and feeding Speech‑Language Therapy Occupational Therapy (OT) Physical Therapy (PT) Music Therapy Family Counseling Behavior Intervention (ABA) Electroencephalography (EEG) Neuromodulation Therapies What will you do? Complete thorough patient intakes, screenings, and assessments that incorporate the unique characteristics and needs of each patient and family member into the plan of care. Triage referrals for acute needs to other members of the Cortica team. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care for each patient. Utilize the nursing process, scientific reasoning, and critical problem solving to practice within the scope of responsibilities as defined by the California Board of Nursing, including placing orders and screening tests in accordance with approved protocol(s) and guidelines. Provide appropriate clinical documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for all patient encounters. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical teams. Participate in annual performance reviews, as needed. Professional Development Opportunities Cortica’s Welcome Visit – NPs conduct telehealth welcome visits, share the care model, and help families access developmental and behavioral services. Telehealth NP role available. Cortica Nurse Education Program – Provide ongoing education to families on topics such as autism labels, sleep, pill‑swallowing, sexuality, school navigation, etc. Cortica’s Nutrition Program – Provide nutrition evaluation and dietary support with speech and occupational therapy teams, based on SOS feeding approach. Cortica Medical Management Program – Work with cognitive and behavioral child neurologists and pediatricians to manage attention, sleep, headaches, challenging behavior, medication management, and medical follow‑ups. You excel at working with interdisciplinary team to identify complex patient and family needs to drive outcomes. You are knowledgeable regarding diagnoses and therapies for: Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Speech and Language delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, Headaches, Insomnia, Epilepsy. You have a minimum of 12 months in pediatric practice in an outpatient setting (pediatric or family NP), preferably behavioral neurology and/or NDM and pediatric behavior disorders, including autism. You are proficient in ADIR/ADOS diagnostic evaluation (Gold standard). You have telemedicine skillset, including ability to leverage multiple technology platforms while documenting (EMR, virtual wait rooms). You possess an active and unencumbered RN and NP license in your state, Board Certification (AANP or ANCC), eligible for payor credentialing. You are familiar with administrative and clerical procedures such as word processing, file management, form design, and office procedures. You possess critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. You genuinely desire to work with pediatric patients with neurodevelopmental conditions or other special needs. You have excellent communication skills. You want to serve as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team working with children with developmental disabilities and their families/caregivers. Compensation fits the range based on skill level, relevant experience, education, and location.
