Position Description The Butz Family of Companies seeks a Restoration Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager at Alexander Building Construction Co. in Harrisburg, PA. This role assists in coordinating field operations, managing documentation, supporting estimating efforts, and ensuring projects meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards in a fast-paced, client-driven environment. Responsibilities:
Position Requirements Typical qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 0-3+ years of construction or restoration experience preferred. Willingness to learn Xactimate and restoration processes. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. - Compile and submit documentation required for permits, inspections, and insurance compliance
- Maintain accurate project records, including photos, daily logs, and job documentation for insurance and client reporting
- Coordinate and order jobsite needs such as temporary toilets, dumpsters, drying equipment, and other restoration resources
- Support mobilization efforts for emergency and scheduled restoration work
- Conduct site visits to monitor work progress and perform quality control inspections
- Meet with inspectors, engineers, consultants, and adjusters to support project coordination
- Coordinate with subcontractors and field crews to ensure expectations for scope, schedule, and quality are met
- Assist in developing project budgets and tracking project costs
- Begin preparing estimates using Xactimate for insurance restoration scopes
- Support communication with clients, property owners, and insurance representatives
