Job Title: Processing Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a Processing Technician to run bagging equipment and operate a forklift in a seed production facility. Our agricultural plant genetics company is focused on sustainably improving crop productivity. Candidates with 13 years of forklift or machine operation experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate seed bagging and packaging equipment.
• Check product weights, labels, and package quality.
• Drive a forklift to move materials and load/unload trucks.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Complete production and inventory logs accurately.
• Follow safety rules and keep the work area clean.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 13 years of forklift experience (operating a forklift ~40% of the day).
• At least 1 year of machine operation experience.
• Basic computer data entry and equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in seed processing or agriculture is a plus.
• Willingness to obtain or maintain a forklift certification.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability.

Work Environment

• Facility: Fast-paced seed processing plant involving physical work, mechanical equipment, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Seasonal Shifts: Shift schedule varies by season, ranging from standard 8-hour shifts up to two 12-hour harvest shifts (6:00 to 6:00).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ogden, IA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
