Lifestyle Coordinator

White Plains, 305 North Street, White Plains, NY 10605, USA Overview We are seeking a creative, compassionate, hands‑on Lifestyle Coordinator to assist in presenting and coordinating recreational programs for our assisted living residents, including those with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia in our dedicated Reflections Memory Care Neighborhood. The role focuses on encouraging residents to pursue interests, hobbies, and lifestyle activities, create new engaging interests, and plan safe excursions to cultural and entertainment venues. Responsibilities also include preparing and distributing monthly calendars, newsletters, and memos, and covering activities in the absence of the Director of Recreation. Responsibilities Assist residents in adjusting to a new concept of living at our luxury assisted living community. Encourage and facilitate ongoing participation in hobbies and lifestyle activities. Plan safe trips to art galleries, theaters, music venues, racetracks, sports events, and cultural programs. Prepare, print, and distribute monthly calendars, newsletters, and memos to residents. Perform planned activities when the Director of Recreation is absent. Maintain knowledge of resident backgrounds, hobbies, special interests, and spoken languages to promote engagement and participation. Qualifications One year’s prior experience working with a senior population, including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia a plus. At least six months of recreation activity experience (art therapy, music therapy) or event leadership experience, preferably in assisted living, long‑term care, or a similar setting. High school diploma or equivalent at a minimum; associate degree or better a preferred. Outgoing, warm, and genuine caring personality with a positive spirit and professional attitude. Ability to create programs that get residents involved and excited. Dependable and able to supervise activities, special events, and safe excursions for the residents. Creative talents in one or more areas such as art, music, readings, dance, etc. Good listening and communication skills with confidence and clarity when speaking in front of a group. Well‑groomed and properly attired.
