Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system; handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy. Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages; work honestly to control loss. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs). Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator. Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons. Stay current with ads and promotions. Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures. Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; practice preventive maintenance on equipment. Create a welcoming environment, answering questions about products. Comply with all laws, regulations, and company guidelines. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
