About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.) Experience: 2 years of acute care RN experience, spine and vascular experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Two (2) years of acute care RN experience; spine and vascular experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. The RN is responsible for customer satisfaction and quality outcomes. The RN assists in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Using the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Evaluation: Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor/preceptor. Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
