Learn more at Job Summary We are currently seeking Substitute Teachers and Assistants for the Early Childhood Division. The ideal substitute teacher will have some classroom experience or experience working with children, hold a bachelor’s degree or a Delaware teaching license and/or an area‑specific certificate. For a substitute assistant position a bachelor’s degree is not required. State regulations require all adults working with three and four‑year‑olds to hold a DEEDS Intern or higher Early Childhood Certificate. Responsibilities Assume duties of the regular classroom teacher or assistant in accordance with school rules. Help students learn subject matter and/or skills required for scheduled lessons and provide meaningful instruction in assigned classrooms. Ensure the integrity of academic time and motivate students to learn and participate. Maintain a neat and orderly classroom. Be reliable, punctual, and professional. Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be well‑organized and committed. Have some experience with technology (a plus). Background Checks Background checks are required.
