Data Engineer

Data EngineerWe are looking for a talented, highly enthusiastic team player to join a team of data enthusiasts on the Reporting Team. The ideal candidate would be interested in data and look for different ways to tell the story with data, and possess excellent analytical skills in finding patterns and looking for anomalies and calling them out.Responsibilities:Work on collecting, storing, processing, and visualizing huge sets of data.Integrating data sets with the architecture used across the team, and technology group.Required Skills:5+ years of working in UNIX/LINUX environment.Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills, ability to write highly performant queries for Oracle, and tune existing queries.Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements.Comfortable in a text based, shell environment and proficient with the UNIX tools such as ed, vi or emacs, grep, tail, head, sed, awk, cut, join, tr, etc.High proficiency in Shell scripting language, programming, automation, logging, debugging.Version control tools such as Git / Mercurial / SVN.Experience with Jenkins.Experience with Teradata SQL.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Desired Skills:Splunk experience including developing and supporting dashboards and reports, administration, complex searches using SPL, and other related skills.Tableau experience and other data visualization skills.Hands on experience with building Web Applications and programming languages such as Python, Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and API's, XML, JSON.Working knowledge of application lifecycle, functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc.).About us: Founded in 2007, InterSources Inc is a Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) & Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Certified Company specializing in providing IT Consulting, IT Staffing Solutions, and Software solutions.
