Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (Illinois).
• Proven experience or strong interest in self-contained special education settings.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learners and the ability to modify curriculum accordingly.
• Comfort working independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively partner with parents, staff, and support services.
• Ability to cultivate an inclusive, positive classroom environment promoting academic and personal growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized education plans tailored to each student’s needs.
• Deliver differentiated instruction across core subjects in a small classroom environment.
• Monitor, document, and communicate student progress.
• Collaborate with general education staff, specialists, and administration on student accommodations and transitions.
• Apply evidence-based classroom management techniques to nurture a structured, engaging learning atmosphere.
• Actively participate in staff meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development, ensuring the highest standards of special education service.
