Director, Financial Systems

TRUE Property Insurance is a reciprocal insurer founded in 2020 to serve homeowners in storm-prone regions across Florida and other coastal markets throughout the United States. The company is actively writing HO3 business in Florida, Georgia, Texas, and South Carolina, as well as program business with partners in Arizona and California. TRUE plans to continue expanding into additional states in 2026 and beyond as it grows its national footprint. Through a partnership-driven distribution model, TRUE collaborates with both new and existing partners to deliver tailored homeowners insurance solutions while continuing to scale its product offerings, underwriting capabilities, and team.

Job Description

We are seeking strong talent with a passion for insurance to join our growing Finance organization at TRUE. The Director of Financial Systems’ responsibilities will include overseeing the financial ecosystem while partnering closely with IT and other business functions to develop and implement new infrastructure and functionality that is sustainable. The Director of Financial Systems is accountable for ensuring existing and new financial processes and systems are well-controlled, operate effectively, and align with the organization’s strategic goals. The director is a strong leader and communicator who has experience collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver on strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Establishes a strategic vision for financial data and technology and enables implementation to support the vision and goals across the finance function and broader organization.
• Partners with finance, IT, and business functions to lead and deliver financial requirements and analysis, and to determine recommendations on implementation and innovative solutions for financial data warehouse and internal financial management systems.
• Build and maintain a forecast financial model that will be used for financial budgets, “what if” projections, new partner and program forecasts, and monthly reforecasting for current year and 5-year projections.
• Owns the financial systems development, testing, and implementation of new functionality that aligns with business goals and compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Leads strategic and administrative projects/tasks that will drive improvements and streamline functionality and automation of data and tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, preferably including work within the Property & Casualty insurance industry with depth of experience in finance or information technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or information systems.
• Proven ability and experience with providing customer‑driven solutions, support, or service.
• Strong planning, organization, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
• Powerful communication with the ability to collaborate and lead cross‑functional workstreams with various levels of organization.
• Experience leading financial or business systems teams.
• Technical Experience: Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, ERP software packages, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Database Management, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
