Position Summary

\n

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to perform advanced single-cell and spatial biology workflows and manage laboratory operations. The position may be offered at the Research Associate or Associate Scientist level, depending on experience. This is primarily a hands-on laboratory position, comprising approximately 80% experimental work and 20% laboratory operations.

The successful candidate will process client samples, perform molecular and spatial biology assays, evaluate experimental quality, troubleshoot technical issues, and help ensure that projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

Hands-on experience with 10x Genomics technology is strongly preferred. Candidates with extensive molecular-biology and NGS library-preparation experience who demonstrate the ability to master complex workflows will also be considered. Training will be provided on additional SingulOmics workflows.

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Independently perform single-cell, multiomic, and spatial biology workflows according to established protocols, SOPs, and quality standards.
\n
• Process biological specimens, including tissues, primary cells, cell suspensions, isolated nuclei, and extracted nucleic acids.
\n
• Perform sample preparation, tissue dissociation, cell or nuclei isolation, nucleic-acid extraction, quality control, PCR, and NGS library preparation.
\n
• Perform applicable 10x Genomics single-cell and spatial workflows.
\n
• Evaluate experimental and sample quality-control results and identify potential technical or sample-quality concerns.
\n
• Troubleshoot experimental procedures and communicate technical issues promptly.
\n
• Maintain complete and accurate experimental records, sample-tracking information, and project documentation.
\n
• Help test, optimize, validate, and implement new single-cell and spatial biology protocols.
\n
• Coordinate experimental activities with scientists and other team members to ensure timely project completion.
\n
• Communicate with technology suppliers and vendors regarding protocols, reagents, instruments, and technical issues.
\n
• Manage laboratory operations, including ordering reagents and consumables, monitoring inventory, coordinating equipment maintenance and service, and maintaining laboratory organization.
\n
• Follow all applicable laboratory safety, quality, and documentation requirements.

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genomics, biotechnology, or a related field, with at least three years of relevant laboratory experience; a master’s degree with at least one year of relevant laboratory experience; or a PhD in a related field. This is a predominantly hands-on laboratory role focused on single-cell and spatial biology workflows, rather than a primarily independent research or computational position.

• Strong hands-on molecular-biology experience, including nucleic-acid extraction, PCR, quality control, and NGS library preparation.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to follow complex protocols and produce accurate, consistent, and reproducible results.
\n
• Experience evaluating quality-control results and troubleshooting laboratory procedures.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to sample integrity and data quality.
\n
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
\n
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Authorization to work in the United States. Employment-visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• Hands-on experience with at least one 10x Genomics single-cell or spatial workflow.
\n
• Experience with multiple 10x Genomics platforms, including Chromium Single Cell Gene Expression, Immune Profiling, ATAC, Multiome, Visium, or Xenium.
\n
• Experience processing tissues, primary cells, cell suspensions, or isolated nuclei.
\n
• Histology experience, particularly cryosectioning or sectioning FFPE tissue.
\n
• Experience with fluorescence microscopy, tissue imaging, or spatial-transcriptomics assays.
\n
• Experience with single-cell or spatial sample and library quality control.
\n
• Experience working in a genomics core facility, biotechnology service laboratory, contract research organization, or other customer-focused laboratory.
\n
• Experience managing reagent inventory, purchasing laboratory supplies, and coordinating equipment maintenance.
