TAX SPECIALISTReputable and profitable regional CPA firm seeks a Tax Specialist to join their expanding team. They will also make decisions on tax matters, working partly from home in Hawaii.Responsibilities:Conduct technical tax reviews and approve tax returns, as well as handle governmental tax audits of varying complexities.Take on full responsibility for larger tax returns and delegate tasks to tax preparers as needed.Demonstrate expert knowledge and skills in advanced tax practices to guide clients effectively.Manage client service tasks, ensuring projects are completed within budgeted timeframes.Delegate and oversee tax research projects to deliver accurate and efficient outcomes.Handle governmental tax audits and may represent clients before tax authorities as needed.Keep track of tax staff qualifications and review assignments for appropriateness.Supervise tax staff and provide on-the-job training for professional development.Supervisory Responsibilities:Develop and train Supervising Seniors, Seniors, Semi-seniors, and Staff accountants.Identify training needs for Tax staff members based on their qualifications.Participate in reviews and evaluations of the Tax Department.Qualifications:Five to seven years of public accounting experience with increasing tax complexity and responsibility.
