Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, 706th Military Intelligence Group, Office of the Commander located at Fort Gordon, Georgia . Responsibilities Interpret analytical findings to establish collection opportunities and analytic discoveries. Disseminate intelligence products through a variety of communications media. Serve as the near-real time Information Management Specialist. Utilize textual and meta-data information to develop products that support external operational planning. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Participating in Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) production missions, such as collection, transcription, analysis, and reporting; Preparing reports and conducting briefings to senior leaders and the intelligence community; and Analyzing and interpreting signals intelligence (SIGINT) information to assist with the coordination of internal and national level production efforts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. Education Additional Information This position requires a 2 year trial period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In making this determination, the agency may consider your performance and conduct; agency needs and interests; whether your continued employment supports organizational or Government goals; and whether it promotes the efficiency of the Federal service. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a(n) Intelligence & Security Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Advance in-hire rates, and creditable service for leave accrual may be authorized when determined to be in the best interest of the government.
