The Vista Counseling Center is actively seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Mental Health Therapist to join our psychiatry practice located in Modesto, California. This is a full-time, remote position tailored for those specializing in mood disorders. We offer a competitive salary range of USD $115,000 – $130,000 annually, reflecting your expertise and commitment to mental health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the severity, frequency, and impact of mood disorder symptoms on clients' daily lives.
  • Collaborate with clients to formulate individualized treatment plans that align with their personal goals and therapeutic needs.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address mood disorders.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies to empower them in their recovery journey.
  • Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans based on observed outcomes and feedback, ensuring responsive and adaptive care.
  • Work in partnership with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for all clients.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in the treatment of mood disorders, integrating new insights into practice.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress, in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings to share insights and enhance the effectiveness of treatment modalities across the clinic.
  • Advocate for clients by addressing the stigma associated with mood disorders and promoting mental health awareness within the community.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients experiencing a range of mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. Our client population is diverse, reflecting various cultural backgrounds, ages, and socio-economic statuses. Your ability to establish rapport and trust will play a crucial role in the therapeutic relationship, facilitating better outcomes for clients as they navigate their mental health challenges.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
  • At least three years of experience in clinical practice, ideally working directly with mood disorders.
  • Strong foundation in evidence-based treatment methodologies, specifically CBT and DBT.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering connections with clients from various backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
  • Additional qualifications such as a Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven expertise in psychopharmacology to assist with integrated treatment strategies.
  • Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain documentation and track client progress efficiently.
  • Prior involvement in community outreach programs or advocacy for mental health issues.
