Position: Server Location: The Tavern on the Square Type: Full-time/Part-time
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Server to join our team at The Tavern on the Square, an upscale, farm-to-table dining establishment known for its exceptional cuisine and impeccable service. The ideal candidate should have a passion for delivering an elevated dining experience, possess strong interpersonal skills, and have a deep understanding of fine dining etiquette. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in providing guests with a memorable and enjoyable dining experience that reflects our restaurant's commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
Guest Interaction: Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
Provide detailed information about the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and recommendations.
Address any guest inquiries or special dietary needs with professionalism and accuracy.
Order Taking: Take orders from guests accurately, ensuring all specifications and modifications are noted. Enter orders into the POS system promptly and communicate them to the kitchen staff.
Service Delivery: Serve food and beverages in a timely and efficient manner while following proper service techniques. Present dishes beautifully and professionally, adhering to the restaurant's presentation standards. Monitor table needs and anticipate guest requirements, ensuring a seamless dining experience.
Wine and Beverage Service: Provide expert knowledge of the restaurant's wine list and assist guests in selecting appropriate pairings.Prepare and serve beverages, including cocktails, in accordance with established recipes and presentation guidelines.
Upselling and Recommendations: Suggest additional menu items, specials, and premium beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase revenue.
Utilize knowledge of the menu to make personalized recommendations based on guest preferences.
Table Maintenance: Ensure tables are properly set with clean utensils, glassware, and linens before guests are seated. Clear and reset tables efficiently between courses, maintaining an organized and aesthetically pleasing dining environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure orders are accurate and timely. Communicate guest feedback, special requests, and any issues to the management team.
Billing and Payment Processing: Present bills to guests, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Process payments securely and efficiently, offering various payment methods and handling change as required.
Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow servers and restaurant staff to maintain a harmonious and efficient working environment. Support colleagues during peak hours and contribute to an atmosphere of teamwork and unity. This will include but is not limited to: assisting teammates, stocking of products, & helping out wherever you are needed!
Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a server in an upscale or fine dining restaurant preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverages, including wine pairings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Impeccable grooming and professional appearance.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure during busy shifts.
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
