About the Position

Job Title: RN Oncology Infusion Clinic Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Adult Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of chemotherapy experience required License: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC) Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association, ACLS, Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Must-Have: Current chemotherapy certification Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Administers oral, subcutaneous injections, chemotherapy drugs, and other medications as ordered by the physician. Consults with other medical personnel and provides expert information about chemotherapy, side effects, and more. Assumes responsibility for specific assignments within the clinic. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician during conscious sedation procedures and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and observes physiological manifestations, intervening when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed and initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently, interacting with family and patients to share care plans during clinic visits and discharge. Informs patients and families of clinic procedures. Provides chemotherapy-related educational information to patients and families, answering inquiries and providing guidance as appropriate. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff as needed. Schedules patient follow-up activities related to their treatment and assists with coordination of care, obtaining referrals, and completing phone calls with patients after clinic visits. Performs other duties as assigned.
