Diesel Mechanic Technician

Position Description Mid‑Level Diesel Technician – Harvard, Illinois. Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections. Execute preventive maintenance and diagnostics. Identify root causes of mechanical failures and perform required repairs. Replace defective components as instructed. Maintain facility and safety standards. Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints. Use Shop Management System and electronic documentation. Comply with federal, provincial, and corporate guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT). Perform other support duties as required to support operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred). Experienced with routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work). At least two years of classroom training and work experience in automotive gas or diesel engine repair. Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) ClassA (preferred). Must obtain a CDL within six months after hire. Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check.
