Overview Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team! This position will support the Tomball, Texas location. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country with approximately 600+ providers in 300+ sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. What does the Advanced Practice Provider do? (including but not limited to) Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, you will be involved in the care of individuals, families, and patient groups dealing with cancer or related diagnoses. Care may take place in clinic or virtually via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. You may serve as a direct caregiver, health‑care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients. Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response and prescribe therapies as indicated. Perform procedures after appropriate training. Assess patient/family needs and provide education. Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs. Incorporate the developing knowledge of evidence‑based research into clinical practice. Develop knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements. Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion. May provide case management for patients and their families, given limited knowledge of community resources. May promote or provide staff education. Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after‑hour calls. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. Level I is entry‑level and typically requires a minimum of zero (0) – three (3) years of experience. Level II requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience. Level Senior requires six (6) years of experience. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Current basic life support (BLS) certification required. Physician Assistant Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA certification. Level I is entry‑level and typically requires a minimum of zero (0) – three (3) years of experience. Level II requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience. Level Senior requires six (6) years of experience. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in the practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS) certification required. Clinical Nurse Specialist Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program. Level I is entry‑level and typically requires a minimum of zero (0) – three (3) years of experience. Level II requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience. Level Senior requires six (6) years of experience. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Current basic life support (BLS) certification required. Physical Demands Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Work Environment Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
